Alcohol believed to be involved in fatal Pennsylvania crash

Earlier this month a man was killed in an incident wherein the driver of a vehicle was allegedly intoxicated. Though the man who was struck by the car survived the early morning incident, he succumbed to his injuries around an hour later while receiving treatment at a hospital.

Drunk driving is a problem in communities throughout the nation, not just Western Pennsylvania. Despite campaigns by law enforcement agencies and other organizations, as well as criminal consequences, the activity continues to be one that many participate in. The man in this case was arrested and charged with several criminal charges including, but not limited to DUI and Homicide by Vehicle and DUI.

It is possible that the man could face legal actions in the civil court as well. The family of the young man who died could decide to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver. These cases are common when a death is the fault of the negligent actions of another person. Whether such a lawsuit will be forthcoming remains to be seen but could make it easier for the family of the deceased man to move forward with their lives.
