According to officials, the vehicle crashed into a utility pole in front of the water treatment plant. An investigation is being conducted to determine why the vehicle crashed into the pole.

A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesperson stated that one of the passengers in the vehicle died. The driver and another passenger were both seriously injured and were taken to nearby hospitals. One victim went to Mercy Hospital while the other went to UPMC Presbyterian. They both remain in critical condition.

The road was shut down for some time while crews investigated and cleared the scene.

If you are a passenger in an accident and you were injured, you can file a claim against the at-fault driver, even if it is the driver of the vehicle you occupied.

Filing a claim for injuries you sustained in an accident can help you recover damages for lost wages, medical bills and pain and suffering.

In the terrible and unfortunate circumstance that a person would die in an accident, the victim’s family may file a claim on their behalf. This is known as a wrongful death claim.

No amount of money can ever replace the loss of a loved one, or heal the injuries sustained in that accident. Recovering the damages caused by a negligent driver, however, helps alleviate the expenses an accident can cause, and also bring justice to the injured party and their family.
