The house of one family was damaged when a salt truck left the road and rolled into their house. Though the family was home at the time of the incident, thankfully no one was injured.
Not everyone was that lucky. In one situation a 68-year-old man died when his own vehicle ran over him. At the time he was attempting to stop his van from sliding. Instead, he apparently slipped himself and the fan went over him. The other death, which involved a 49-year-old woman, occurred while she was out with her dogs, walking them. A car lost control on the icy road and struck her.
As these deaths illustrate if not taken seriously, icy roads can pose serious dangers to those who are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Depending on what the driver behind the wheel of the vehicle that hit the woman was doing, it is possible that individual could find that he or she is facing a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the deceased woman’s family. Determining how much the life of the person who died is worth can be a heart wrenching process. For this reason it is important to work with a lawyer you feel has your best interest in mind.
