Five people are injured after the ski lift they were on malfunctioned. The ski resort, located in State College, Pennsylvania, released a statement saying that one chair on the ski lift malfunctioned, causing it to become loose and slide backwards into another chair. This caused a chain reaction with 4 other chairs.
It took safety officials 90 minutes to get everyone safely down from the ski lift.
The ski resort says the lift was previously inspected and received a passing score. They are working with safety officials and the ski lift’s manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problem.
All five who were injured suffered minor injuries according to police.
It is a property owner’s responsibility to keep their premises safe at all times. Since the victims were injured on the ski resort’s property, they may be entitled to compensation.
