A family of seven were struck and injured by a vehicle while taking a walk. The accident occurred in the afternoon on a street in Mountain Top, Luzerne County. Police say the family was walking down the street when a car swerved into them and struck them. Fortunately for the family, the accident occurred right outside the home of an Emergency Room doctor. The doctor ran out to assist the family. Five children, including an infant, and two adults were all critically injured in the accident. The two adults and three children had to be airlifted to a local hospital while the other two children were taken by ambulance.
The woman who struck the family did stop and was working with police. The accident is still under investigation.
