Start A Free EvaluationHow Much Money Can a Bethel Park Rideshare Accident Lawyer Help You Recover?
The amount of money you recover after a rideshare accident will vary based on your unique losses. Depending on the severity of your injuries and other factors, your Bethel Park Lyft accident attorney or Bethel Park Uber accident attorney may be able to help you recover a fair settlement for:
- All medical bills associated with treating your injuries
- Professional losses
- Property damage
- Pain and suffering and other non-economic damages
- Wrongful death damages, if your loved one passed away due to catastrophic injuries suffered in a rideshare accident
Which Insurance Policy Should Cover Your Damages?
Determining which insurance company to file a claim with after a rideshare accident can be difficult. Uber and Lyft provide insurance policies that cover damages in accidents involving their drivers, but they only cover accidents that occur under certain circumstances. For example:
- If the app is off when a crash happens, Uber and Lyft do not provide coverage. You must turn to your no-fault policy (if applicable) or the liable driver’s personal auto insurance for coverage.
- If the app is on and the driver is awaiting a ride request when they are involved in an accident, Uber and Lyft can provide limited liability coverage
- If the driver has accepted a ride request or is transporting a passenger when an accident occurs, Uber and Lyft both offer $1 million in liability coverage.
Our Bethel Park Uber and Lyft rideshare accident attorneys can determine which policy you can pursue for damages and handle your entire claim from beginning to end. Contact Berger and Green today to get started.

Contact Us Now For HelpPennsylvania Laws That May Affect Your Rideshare Accident Claim
Several Pennsylvania laws may affect your car accident claim, including:
“Choice No-Fault” Insurance
Pennsylvania’s auto insurance laws are somewhat unique. It is one of only three states in the U.S. with a “choice no-fault” system. Per Pa. C.S.A. § 1705, drivers can choose between “limited tort” and “full tort” insurance.
- If you have limited tort insurance, you can generally only sue an at-fault driver for non-economic damages (such as pain and suffering) if you suffer a serious injury, such as paralysis, limb amputation, or a severe traumatic brain injury. In all other cases, you are restricted to using your own car insurance to cover your losses after an accident.
- If you have full tort insurance, you have an unrestricted right to sue liable parties after a crash.
Accordingly, the choice you made may affect your ability to recover damages after a car accident.
Modified Comparative Negligence
Sometimes multiple negligent actions combine to cause a motor vehicle accident. Per Pa. C.S.A. § 7102, each negligent party involved in a crash will be assigned a portion of blame. If you are partially at fault, your compensation will be reduced by your percentage of responsibility. If you are more than 50% at fault, you cannot recover any compensation for your damages.
Ideally, your portion of fault will be 0%, but that doesn’t always happen. If you were driving a vehicle when the rideshare accident occurred and one of the other involved parties alleges your negligence caused or contributed to the crash, it could affect your ability to recover the compensation you deserve.
Your Bethel Park rideshare car accident lawyer will negotiate with all involved parties to ensure you do not receive an unfair portion of the blame.
Personal Injury Statute of Limitations
You do not have unlimited time to take legal action after a car accident. In Pennsylvania, those who qualify generally only have two years from the accident date to file a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault party, per Pa. C.S.A. § 5524.
We encourage you to notify our personal injury law firm of your accident as soon as possible so our Bethel Park rideshare accident attorneys have plenty of time to gather evidence of fault and liability and build your case before the deadline expires.
You need an attorney with the experience and dedication to give your case the care it deserves.
