A crash involving a Port Authority bus and a delivery truck has left several injured. The accident occurred around 5 a.m., on November 13th, on East Eighth Avenue near Dickson Street in Homestead.

At least eight passengers on the bus were injured in the accident and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.  Both drivers were uninjured.

Police report that the truck was carrying mail and while looking for the local post office, he took his eyes off the road and crossed over the center lines.  First responders, however, said the driver of the delivery truck claims he fell asleep at the wheel.

The accident is still under investigation.  Charges may be made after the investigation is complete.
