A utility worker for First Energy has died after he fell from a bucket truck. The man was working on power lines in Wayne Township in the 300 block of Dutch Ridge Road. The victim was roughly 30 feet in the air in a bucket when his truck became unstable and tipped over. The man died from the fall. He was 54 years old and from New Castle. The accident occurred round 12:30 a.m. on State Route 422, in Plumcreek Township. Two vehicles, a Jeep and a Ford, were traveling west on Route 422 when the Ford began to slow down to make a left turn. The Jeep failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the Ford. This caused the Ford to veer off into the eastbound lane where it struck another vehicle. An investigation is ongoing.
