Unfortunately, the danger does not exist only away from home or on our neighborhood streets; sometimes the danger essentially comes to us. This is what a local family is having to deal with after a recent fatal motor vehicle accident that took place moments after a man entered his car. The driver was hit and killed while pulling out of a driveway.
It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the collision; both drivers were wearing seatbelts. However, while the driver of the vehicle that struck the car that was pulling out was uninjured, the man exiting the driveway was killed.
There is much still to be examined in this case. Was the driver of the car that was on the road distracted in any way? What were the factors that led to the reaction time not being long enough to prevent a fatal crash? These issues will be examined in the weeks and months to come. The survivors of someone who is fatally injured in this manner might wish to consult with an experienced Pittsburgh personal injury attorney to discuss their options.
