Six students were struck by a vehicle while walking home from school in the Upper Hill District. Four of the students were on the sidewalk while the other two were on the road.
The students were struck by a teenage girl driving a black Chrysler 300.
Her and the male passenger fled the scene of the accident but later returned to cooperate with police.
The accident occurred along Centre Avenue and Ewart Drive.
All six of the students were transported to local hospitals with injuries ranging from mild to severe; none are expected to be life threatening.
The victims are all students of Pittsburgh Milliones University Prep.
The accident is under investigation to determine if the accident was caused by a defect in the vehicle or by driver error.
