Parking lot crash involving postal vehicle leads to lawsuit

The man said the serious injuries he suffered impacted his ability to earn an income. According to records, the injuries he incurred were to the following parts of his body:

  • Right hip
  • Left elbow
  • Face
  • Back

More specifically the impact caused a titanium plate in his face to be dislodged resulting in swelling and caused a disc in his back to swell leaving him in pain. The back injury ultimately led the man to undergo surgery.

The man recently filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Government seeking compensation in relation to the incident. He alleges that the postal worker was negligently operating his postal vehicle when he ran into the right corner of the injured man’s car bumper. The claim also alleges that the postal worker failed to exercise reasonable care in light of the circumstances and failed to reasonably inspect the area.

Prior to filing the lawsuit the man unsuccessfully sought compensation under the Federal Tort Claims Act.

When someone is hurt in a car accident that is the result of the negligent actions of another it is possible that a personal injury lawsuit like this one might be filed. For best results such a case should be pursued with the assistance of a lawyer who handles these types of cases.
