Driver Turns Herself in after Fleeing Scene of Serious Motorcycle Accident in Westmoreland County

Motorcycle Accident in Westmoreland CountyA motorcycle collision on Route 51 in Westmoreland County occurred late Friday night at the intersection of McKenery Drive near C. Harper Ford. Police report that the motorcycle was traveling south approaching the intersection on Route 51. The other vehicle involved was traveling north when it made a left turn into the path of the motorcycle.  After colliding, the motorcyclist was thrown 70 feet down an embankment. The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his serious injuries.

Police are not referring to the accident as a hit and run, however, the driver who struck the motorcycle did flee the scene.  After a few days, the driver turned herself in to local police.  The driver at fault will face several charges.
