Overturned School Bus in Carnegie Leaves 6 Students Injured

Emergency responders said the bus overturned at the Carnegie and Noblestown Road exit around 7 a.m. this morning.

The accident occurred as the school bus was turning onto the on ramp of I79 North when a vehicle struck the rear end of the bus, causing it to flip on its side.

The bus was transporting students to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Students on the bus were taken to a nearby hospital. Their injuries have been reported as minor at this time.

This is the second school bus accident to occur in two days.

Yesterday, a school bus traveling in the North Side crashed, sending two children to the hospital.

The accident occurred at the corner of Cedar Avenue and East North Avenue around 8:30 a.m.

Police said that the bus failed to navigate a sharp corner and struck a light pole.
