Construction workers struck by cars in work zones

The first crash happened after a vehicle attempted to flee a trooper who was positioned in a work zone. As the driver did, the vehicle entered a closed lane and hit a construction worker. That worker’s injuries were described as serious and the person was taken to the hospital.

In the second crash three workers were hurt when the vehicle they were using to pick up cones was hit by another vehicle. It is unclear what caused that vehicle to strike the one the workers were in and the driver died as a result of the collision. At the time of the incident which happened around 5:30 a.m., the crew was working to open a lane that had been closed.

The injuries the workers suffered varied. While one reportedly had only bumps and bruises, the other two were taken to the hospital—one by ambulance and the other by helicopter. Specifics regarding their injuries are not known.

When people are hurt as a result of negligence actions of a driver they may seek compensation for those injuries. This may be accomplished by filing a lawsuit against the negligent party. Any money recovered can help to cover the expenses associated with such the injuries.
