Unlike an automobile an ATV does not carry insurance of the type that you would have on your vehicle. The type that you would have on your vehicle would include first party medical benefits. Consequently, your first party medical benefits under your own auto insurance would pay for your medical bills initially if you were involved in an automobile accident. In an ATV accident your health insurance is going to be principally responsible for your medical bills while you treat. Of course, if you were not at fault in the accident ultimately the person at fault would be responsible for your medical bills. They would reimburse your health insurance should they assert a lien and they would reimburse you for all of your out of pocket costs as well as time off.
