Ambridge Man Struck and Killed After Exiting Vehicle

A 23-year-old Ambridge man died after he was struck by a vehicle on Windgap Avenue near the Windgap-Fairywood border. The young man exited his vehicle after he hit a deer to check the damage that was done. A second vehicle then came and struck him and his vehicle.

Police say the accident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016. The victim was unresponsive when paramedics arrived on the scene. He was then transported to Allegheny General Hospital where he later died due to the severity of his injuries.

A passenger in the victim’s vehicle and the driver of the vehicle that struck them, were treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

An accident investigation unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
