Motorcyclist Killed by Drunk Driver

Motorcyclist Killed by Drunk Driver

Motorcycle Accidents

Police reported that the crash happened on Main Street near the intersection of Hower Avenue after a pickup truck veered into the motorcycle’s lane.

The motorcycle crashed into the front fender on the passenger side of the pickup truck. He was then thrown from his bike and died as a result of the accident.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the driver of the truck to be intoxicated. He was arrested but all charges are still pending against the drunk driver.

In most accidents that result from a drunk driver, criminal charges will be filed. In addition, the victim of the accident may pursue a civil claim for his or her injuries. In a case such as this, the family may file a wrongful death claim.

Filing a claim will not fill the emptiness that is left after losing a loved one, but it may provide closure. It may help to know that those who were at fault are being held accountable for their negligent actions. Filing a claim will also help alleviate costs such as medical bills or funeral arrangements a family may not have been prepared for.

In a previous drunk driving accident lawsuit, we explained why it appropriate to file a personal injury claim or lawsuit after being involved in an accident caused by a drunk driver.
