Head-On Crash Leaves One Dead and One Seriously Injured.

On Tuesday evening, a head-on collision occurred on Water Street in East Huntingdon. Police say Water Street is a winding, two-lane stretch of road between Southmoreland Primary Center in Alverton and the Scottdale Borough line.

A car and a pickup truck collided head-on on the windy roady. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The passenger of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle and was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. The extent of their condition has not been released.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

It has not been confirmed, however, most head-on collisions result from distracted driving. Distracted driving is not only illegal it is deadly. Texting is the biggest form of distracted driving we see today and sadly, innocent lives are being lost because of it.
