110,000 Meals Raised at the 2023 iHeartRadio Schools Out Radiothon 2023

In the city of Pittsburgh, a unique initiative called the Summer Youth Cafe is making a positive impact on the lives of young people while addressing food insecurity. This community-driven program, in collaboration with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, combines education, nutrition and social engagement to foster a healthier future for the community.

Addressing Food Insecurity  

Food insecurity remains a pressing issue, affecting millions of individuals and families across the United States. The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank has been at the forefront of the battle against hunger, providing support to those in need. Collaborating with the Summer Youth Cafe, their joint efforts aim to ensure that no child or family goes hungry during the summer months when access to school meals is limited. Through the program, free and nutritious meals are offered to young people, allowing them to focus on personal growth and development without worrying about their next meal.

iHeart Radio Schools Out Radiothon

During the Schools Out Radiothon, iHeart Radio stations dedicated an entire day broadcasting live, featuring special segments, interviews and performances. The event showcased the talent and dedication of radio personalities who lend their voices to amplify the importance of education and inspire listeners to contribute to the cause.

Funds raised benefited the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and its summer lunch program. At the end of the event, they raised enough funds to serve 110,000 meals.

Berger and Green graciously donated $5,000.00 to help serve those in need. The funds will provide nutritious meals over the summer to those in need.
