Milk-Free Waffles Recalled Due to Misbranding

Product Liability

Van’s Foods is recalling 1,500 cases of their gluten and milk-free waffles due to a misbranding issue.  The waffles that were packaged with Van’s Foods’ label were in fact not gluten and milk-free.

Tyson Foods subsidiary also sells gluten-free (not milk-free) waffles.  There seems to have been a mix up when packaging and the waffles were swapped with the wrong labels.

According to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), Van’s Foods is recalling 1,584 cases of waffles that were distributed to Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Someone with an allergy to gluten or milk could be at risk if they were to eat the recalled waffles.

The recall affects Van’s Waffles with a best-before date of August 22, 2018, and a product lot label of #A640234710–WL2.

Consumers who purchased the recalled waffles can contact Van’s Foods’ customer service center at 1-866-886-8456 for a refund.

So far there have been no reports of illness due to the consumption of these products.

Recovering compensation after an injury from a defective product
