Ford Recalls 2 Million Vehicles due to Defective Doors.

Ford has issued a recall on over two million vehicles due to a faulty latch in the doors. The doors can open while a car is being driven.

The issue results from a cracked door latch. The latch is prone to cracking in high temperatures. This then causes the door to not close properly, so when it is being driven, the door can open.

Some of the recalled vehicles were part of previous recalls according to Ford.

Ford said dealers either did not fix the faulty latches or fixed them improperly.

The recall affects numerous model Fords ranging from 2011-2016 model years.

Ford Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, C-Max, Mustangs, Escape SUVs, Transit Connect vans, as well as Lincoln MKZ sedans and MKC SUVs are all included in the recall.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received numerous complaints of doors suddenly coming open while vehicles are being driven.

Ford says they are not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with the doors.

Owners can visit the recall page of Ford’s owner website to see if their vehicle is involved in the recall.
