The teens were traveling westbound when police say the driver took his eyes off of the road to adjust the radio. He then lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a telephone pole.
Three teens were thrown from the vehicle because of the impact. One teen was trapped inside the vehicle and another was able to walk away uninjured.
Three of the teens are currently hospitalized and in critical condition. Their injuries include internal bleeding and several broken bones. Two of the injured teens have already undergone several surgeries.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident to determine if speed or alcohol played a factor.
