Pennsylvania couple sues casino after woman hurt in fall

Sadly, a visit to Harrah’s did not end well for a Pennsylvania couple. They recently filed a lawsuit against the casino after the woman suffered injuries described as permanent and debilitating. As a result of the injuries, the nature of which is not clear, the couple is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.

According to the complaint, the woman suffered the undisclosed injuries when she fell while walking in a foyer of the casino. The fall occurred when she unexpectedly stepped into a metal gutter located in the floor. The gutter was unmarked.

There are certain things that visitors to a casino might expect. For example, they may expect to win some money. Conversely, individuals to visit casinos might also expect to lose some money. Most visitors however, do not expect to hurt themselves as a result of the condition of the premises. Nonetheless, as this case illustrates people are injured at these types of establishments.

While there may not be anything that can be done to undo injuries suffered in an injury due to the condition of a casino, those who find themselves in that position might still have options. Like the couple in this case, they could attempt to secure compensation for the injuries via a premises liability lawsuit.
