The man was in a bucket truck working as a part of a tree cutting crew when he fell out of the bucket. He landed 30 feet below and died.
What caused the man to fall is currently unclear. It is likely however that determination will be made in the course of the investigations being conducted into the matter. In addition to local police, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called in.
Depending on what caused the accident to occur it is possible that a wrongful death lawsuit could be filed in conjunction with the man’s death. Such a case could be appropriate if negligence on the part of another person or entity was to blame for the man’s death.
Wrongful death lawsuits obviously cannot undo the outcome of a serious accident. When successful, they may, however, make the death easier for those left behind to handle financially. This is particularly true when the person who died supported others.
It is not clear whether the man who died in the workplace accident had a family that might pursue this course of action. If he did, the first step for them would be to contact a personal injury lawyer.
